Two brothers are taught the secrets of Chow Mun Cho, a priest of the Celestial Pact. Yim is more disciplined, but the oldest, Lowmpa, chafes under the priest’s slow tutelage. One night he runs off, hoping to find more power than the monk is willing to offer. In the imperial city of Xiang Mei, he finds that power, but at a price he never expected to pay.

Taking advantage of the unstable rule of Emperor Lo Fahn, the fierce warlord, Shi Tai trains his son Tai Teng to become the strongest in the nation. But Tai Teng’s ambition grows beyond that of his father, and he makes plans to march upon Xiang Mei to become supreme leader of the land.

Time passes and the players find their destinies entwined. The Great Tree’s death threatens to set loose an evil of a celestial power. Unwittingly united with that evil, Lowmpa brings its power to Tai Teng whose massive army is overrunning the fractured empire that newly crowned Fahn Cho is struggling to unite. All the while, Ki Lau must unite the dragon tribes, separated by ancient feuds, to battle this evil and fulfill the prophecy of Li Shay and the Celestial Pact.

About the Author:

Laura Enright was born in Chicago in the year of the dragon and her love for the creatures has been as constant as has her love of writing.

Her first book, Chicago’s Most Wanted: The Top Ten Book of Murderous Mobsters, Midway Monsters and Windy City Oddities, published in 2005 by Potomac Publishers, was followed up in 2010 by Vampires’ Most Wanted: The Top Ten Book of Bloodthirsty Biters, Stake-wielding Slayers and Other Undead Oddities.

To Touch the Sun, the first book in her Chicago Vampire Series, was released in 2014 by Dagda Publishing while Ujaali, book two, was released in 2015.

Court of the Five Tribes, published by Correllian Publishing, has given her the perfect story for her beloved dragons and she hopes to write many more.

She lives near Chicago with her cat Autum who was born in the year of the snake, but despite this, they get along perfectly fine.
